That is why we are deliberately moving towards holding more of our scheduled clinics in community centres. Our aim is to provide professional medical appointments in familiar, practical local venues while ensuring that more of the money and activity generated by our clinics supports facilities that serve their wider communities.
A deliberate choice to support local places
A venue is more than an address. Community centres are shared local assets: places where families, charities, clubs and support organisations meet, learn and build connections. Choosing these venues allows Skyemont Health to bring a useful service into spaces that already play an important role in local life.
Hiring rooms in community centres can contribute directly to the use and sustainability of those facilities. It can also bring new visitors through their doors, introduce people to services and activities they may not previously have known about, and help keep local buildings active throughout the week.
We do not claim that a clinic session alone can regenerate a neighbourhood. Our commitment is more practical: where a suitable community venue is available, we want our operating choices to support local facilities rather than treating venue hire as a purely commercial transaction. Over time, regular use, local footfall and dependable room hire can all form part of a healthier community ecosystem.
Why Stiles Community Centre is a good fit
Our Antrim appointments are moving to Stiles Community Centre, 11 Fountain Hill, Antrim, BT41 1LZ. It remains convenient for drivers travelling from Antrim and the surrounding area, and it is a well-established community facility rather than an isolated clinical setting.
The centre has its own free car park, and there is a bus stop close to the venue. Antrim railway station is also nearby. These practical features matter to us because a local appointment should be easy to reach whether someone is travelling by car or public transport.
Stiles Community Centre has also recently benefited from significant investment in accessibility and safety. Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council reported improvements including resurfaced parking and pedestrian routes, upgraded access to the building, new low-energy external lighting and better drainage. The clinical standard of the appointment does not change with the venue. Medical examinations are carried out by a GMC-registered doctor, and bookings, medical records and appointment enquiries continue to be managed directly by Skyemont Health. The community centre is the host venue; Skyemont Health remains responsible for the medical service.

Where those standards are met, our preference will increasingly be to work from community-based venues. We hope this helps local facilities remain visible, well used and connected to the people they serve, while giving drivers a convenient place to complete an important medical requirement.
